Paradise | An example of Fine Art Photography
2012, Filopappou Hill, Athens, Greece
In 2012 I spent a period of time in Athens, to cover the financial crisis as a photojournalist. In between protests I went exploring the city and ventured up to Filopappou Hill to take in the views.
At the summit I noticed the word Paradise written on surface of the hill. As the figure of the man (pictured) walked into the frame it brought the scene to life. The word Paradise now had meaning. It appeared to be what the man was searching for, but he didn’t realise he had already found it. In a philosophical way, this image captures a sense of the inner turmoil of man and how one can lose perspective of what is important in life.
