In this portrait I used the train carriage glass to soften the image and add an unusual quality to the scene. I particularly enjoyed the reflection of the tube station name in the glass and the blurred figures on the train, all leading the eye forward to my subject on the other platform.
Portrait photography is not just about saying something about the subject; it is also a genre in which I try to tell a story. By adding the carriage in the foreground the photograph has more resonance and this method created an interesting frame for my subject.
