Visiting the tanneries of Marrakesh is an experience I will ever forget. The process of tanning the leather generates a smell that I can’t fully describe and becomes completely overwhelming.
It was during a short walk through one of the tanneries that I noticed a local boy enjoying a brief respite from his work. His positioning in terms of the location and the small details like the carton of milk gave the scene a charming quality. I was drawn to the chaos and the colour, the relentless detail of the backdrop and how the boy looked almost lost within its complexity.
